Survivor Camp
2010
Come join the American Red Cross of Upper Northumberland County for a week-long fun-filled survivor adventure. During the week of July 19-July 23, 2010 there will be a day camp for young adults ages 10 and up. The camp will be held each day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. So what do you do at a Survivor Camp? You will have all the training that a young adult would need in the time of disaster. You will have Adult CPR, Infant and Child CPR training too, and let’s not forget about AED training. We will hone our People First Aid Skills and even learn what to do if your pet has an emergency while learning Pet First Aid. Would you like to start your own business? Well, we will train you in the fine art of babysitting along with all the business aspects of own-ing your own babysitter’s club. Ever wonder how our blood flows through our bodies and why we donate blood? They will learn about Bloodborne Pathogens. Would you like an afternoon at the pool on a hot day in July? Well we have just the ticket for you. We will be teaching Water Safety skills and then you can splash and swim and have a great time at the pool. The river is rising and do you know what to do? We will train all of the participants on what to do in a time of disaster and set up a disaster shelter and feed our guest with lunch prepared by you, our dis-aster team. And wait till you see what we will do on our Red Cross Scavenger Hunt. While spending this week at our camp you will receive 14 American Red Cross Certificates. When tak-ing these courses separately it would cost over $300.00. We have combined them together and we are offering the week-long camp for $175.00. The price is really a bargain. This includes all your books, manuals, disaster, babysitting, pet supplies, a first aid kit and a Survivor Camp T-Shirt. Everyone is asked to bring a bag lunch.
So come join us. If you need more information please contact Belinda Stefl at the American Red Cross of Upper Northumberland County located at 560 Mahoning Street, Milton, PA 17847 (570) 742-9551 or e-mail at steflb@ptd.net.
